Traveling is allowed during the COVID-19 pandemic, but extra precautions to stay safe are advised. If you are traveling, especially to another country, consider COVID testing for travel.
COVID Testing for Travel
Some airlines and countries require testing for travel. If you need to get tested for COVID-19 prior to travel, understand if you need the PCR or rapid test.
The PCR test is a nasal swab that is sent to a lab for the sample to be analyzed. Results are sent back to the clinic in 3 to 5 days. When the clinic receives results, you’ll be notified via our Patient Portal. From the Portal you can view the results, print results, and/or save the results to your device. The rapid test is also a nasal swab, but you’ll have results the same day as your test. The results are also sent to the Patient Portal. Learn more about rapid and PCR testing.
Check with the airline, as well as the place you will be visiting, to understand testing requirements. In some cases, the airline will provide COVID testing for travel. Testing may vary by airport location and airline.
