When Do I Need an X-Ray?

Physicians and other healthcare providers use x-rays to observe your bones and lungs. They may order an x-ray in order to evaluate a bone for a fracture or your lungs for pneumonia. X-rays can help diagnose a variety of medical conditions, including:

  • Bone fractures (hairline or stress)
  • Various knee conditions
  • Joint dislocations (shoulder, elbow, or hip)
  • Penetration injuries (such as embedded glass, wood, or metal foreign bodies)
  • Swallowed foreign bodies (opaque to x-rays)
  • Kidney stones (opaque to x-rays)
  • Pneumonia
  • Congestion or fluid in the lungs
  • Various stomach problems

Do I Need to Schedule an Urgent Care Visit for an X-Ray?

Yes, you will need to be seen by a provider at Advanced Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine prior to getting an x-ray or have a referral. We accept referrals from other healthcare practices. The cost is $80 per view with a referral.

Our X-Ray Technicians

We have a traveling x-ray technician Monday through Thursday, 9 am to 6 pm. The x-ray tech travels between our Broomfield, Northglenn, and Westminster clinics. We also have technicians at our Aurora and Brighton clinics several days a week. Please keep in mind that due to staffing shortages you may be asked to travel to a nearby clinic. We apologize for any inconvenience.
