Advanced Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine’s Denver clinic in the Central Park neighborhood, located at 3890 Quebec St., Ste A & B Denver, CO 80207, partnered with Rapid Testing to provide rapid testing in Denver.
Rapid Testing Denver
Rapid Testing offers the rapid diagnostic test COVID. This includes the two types of tests: antigen and molecular. The Denver medical clinic has three rapid tests to choose from:
- The antigen rapid test is a Sofia antigen test that is manufactured by the Quidel Corporation.
- The Abbott ID NOW is a molecular test that is NAAT-certified. This means it is a widely accepted COVID test for travel.
- The rapid PCR test Denver is a molecular test and also NAAT-certified.
All rapid tests provide same-day results. Click here to learn more about the tests and pricing.
According to the FDA, the molecular test detects the virus by looking for genetic material from the virus. The antigen rapid test detects the virus by looking for proteins from the virus. The rapid tests produce results much more quickly than the lab-based RT-PCR test. Results from the rapid tests are available the same day as testing.
How Much Does a COVID Test Cost?
Advanced Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine and Rapid Testing have teamed up to provide COVID-19 antigen and molecular (NAAT) rapid tests through our clinics.
The COVID test price for the antigen test is $95. The COVID test price for the Abbott ID NOW molecular test is $125. The price for the rapid PCR test is $225. Click here to learn about the test differences.
Does Insurance Cover COVID Testing?
The rapid tests are not covered by insurance. The COVID-19 rapid tests are not being recognized as a medically necessary service. Therefore, these services are not paid by insurance companies, which can result in a costly patient bill. Rapid Testing offers rapid COVID tests at an affordable out-of-pocket cost. Payment is due at the time of service: cash or credit card.
The lab-based RT-PCR test is typically covered by insurance. This is a molecular test and the results are sent to a lab. It can take 3 to 7 days for results to return from the lab. A telehealth visit with Advanced Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine is required for testing.
